Sheriff's Office Arrests Murder Suspect

Lancaster, SC (Friday 03/02/2012)

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office has arrested and charged Terry Catoe (B/M DOB: 08/04/1972 Address: 747 Shiloh Unity Rd. Lancaster) with the murder of Linda Massey Gaymon. Catoe was identified as a potential suspect in the murder on Wednesday and taken into custody on another charge. Catoe was charged with Gaymon’s murder late Thursday afternoon. Gaymon was located inside a vacant home on Starnes St. in the Brooklyn Ave. area of Lancaster on Friday 02-24-2012. Gaymon’s cause of death was determined to be asphyxiation. Catoe is believed to have strangled Gaymon to death.  
 
Catoe remains incarcerated at the Lancaster County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
 
Sheriff Faile said, “We are pleased that this violent individual responsible for Linda Gaymon’s death has been taken into custody. Our Investigators worked really hard to put this case together. I am thankful for that hard work and the citizens who came forward with valuable information to help us solve this case.”
